ACCESS: Pioneer in online MCLE

To date, ACCESS is the ONLY provider that has a full 36-unit course bundle, ensuring that lawyers get to complete the 7th compliance period of Mandatory Continuing Legal Education (MCLE) with world-class education.

Now, in the midst of ongoing pandemic, ACCESS has ensured greater accessibility and convenience for all legal practitioners by introducing its ground-breaking e-learning platform – the first of its kind.

Pioneered by ACCESS, the online MCLE was approved by the Supreme court en banc in 2019. “It was really through our efforts that MCLE online is now a reality. Before us, many talked of doing it. But no one pursued it with a passion like we did. And though others have followed suit, we remain to be the country’s trusted and leading online MCLE provider with courses that are designed to educate,” recounts Atty. Peaches Martinez-Aranas of ACCESS. Regardless of time and place, lawyers can complete the required 36 MCLE online and be allowed to sign pleadings filed in court. “We don’t want lawyers to just comply with the mandatory requirement of the law, we want lawyers to actually learn. We want them to enjoy and draw real value from our courses,” Atty. Aranas adds.

Producing the MCLE online courses required intensive and extensive production efforts. ACCESS worked with Adamson University’s College of Law, to formulate a curriculum that covers current developments in law. Together with a team of instructional designers, a production house, and a creative agency, ACCESS created engaging online courses that are designed for absorption and retention. Every step of our course development was done based on best practices to re-define “MCLe-learning.”

Taking it a step further, ACCESS believes that true online learning is more than just listening to the lesson. Thus it incorporated interactive features in its digital courses, with lecture guides, fun games and quizzes, and an online MCLE Proctor. “When we think of true online learning, it should be engaging and participative,” underlines Atty. Aranas. “We want our learners to be glued to our courses. Thus, we developed courses that enhance learning with interactivity. Our courses can be enjoyed by learners of all ages, including senior citizens.”

This 2021, ACCESS now offers 36 online and on demand courses that cover various topics, from Updates on Substantive and Procedural Laws and Jurisprudence, to Trial and Pre-Trial Skills, Legal and Judicial Ethics, and International Law and International Conventions, among many others. In addition, ACCESS features legal luminaries and members of the bench such as retired Senior Associate Justice Antonio Carpio of the Supreme Court of the Philippines, Associate Justice Cathy Manahan of the Court of Tax Appeals, retired Associate Justice Magdangal De Leon of the Court of Appeals, Deputy Commissioner for National Privacy Commission Atty. Leandro Aguirre, Chief of the Legal Division of the Bureau of Immigration Atty. Arvin Santos, and retired SEC Chairwoman Atty. Teresita Herbosa, among others. “We believe that Filipino lawyers deserve online courses that are global in content, design, and delivery. For us at ACCESS, this is not just a business; this is our legacy. We are committed to elevating online MCLE and uplifting the Philippine legal industry through education that is accessible, of high quality, and which is at par with the education in first world nations.”

With its keen approach to education and design, ACCESS provides an online MCLE like no other. “We really work with only the best. We invest hundreds of man-hours to meet the high standards of our audience. We are proud to say that with every course, we deliver excellence.”
