DOST Northern Mindanao staff sharpen skills in series of trainings

CAGAYAN DE ORO, Philippines — Staff from the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) in Northern Mindanao are leveling up their expertise through a series of capacity-building sessions. The training is designed to help the agency improve efficiency, enhance its services, and ensure operations remain focused on clients.

Highlights of the Trainings

  • Financial Accountability: Two assistant regional directors and a provincial director attended a seminar in Parañaque City on the settlement of accounts and Commission on Audit (COA) procedures. The training focused on strengthening financial transparency and ensuring accountability in government service.
  • Organizational Efficiency: An assistant regional director and four provincial directors participated in a seminar-workshop in Manila focused on work analysis. The goal was to help them analyze job roles and workflows to improve performance and service delivery.
  • Project and Risk Management: Nine science research specialists traveled to Davao City for a digital transformation training. The program helped them enhance their skills in project planning, execution, and risk assessment to ensure the successful implementation of various projects.
  • Data Storytelling: A project technical assistant attended a workshop in Muntinlupa City on data storytelling. The training focused on transforming complex scientific data into easy-to-understand narratives to better communicate the benefits of science, technology, and innovation to the public.

The agency emphasized that these initiatives are vital for its team to grow in skill and purpose, preparing them to serve stakeholders with excellence.
