Manila, Philippines – A historic collaboration is set to unfold as the Philippine Travel Agencies Association (PTAA) and the Intramuros Administration (IA) join forces for the Grand Santacruzan, a vibrant showcase of Filipino culture and tradition. Taking place on May 23, 2025, within the storied walls of Intramuros, this event highlights the country’s rich heritage and devotion to its historical roots.
To mark the partnership, PTAA and IA will hold a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) signing on March 25, 2025, Tuesday . The event will feature a press briefing, a Q&A session, and discussions with tourism representatives from across the country—underscoring a collective effort to preserve and promote Filipino customs.
The Grand Santacruzan, a time-honored religious and cultural procession, commemorates the discovery of the True Cross by Empress Helena and Emperor Constantine the Great. This year’s celebration will bring together tourism offices and regional representatives to highlight the diverse traditions of different provinces. Set in the historic heart of Manila, Intramuros provides the perfect setting for this meaningful gathering.
As co-presenters, IA will oversee the historical and cultural aspects of the event, ensuring it aligns with national preservation efforts, while PTAA will lead the organization and execution. This collaboration reflects PTAA’s commitment to strengthening the travel and tourism industry through initiatives that honor Filipino identity.
The Grand Santacruzan will also serve as a highlight of PTAA’s 3rd General Membership Meeting, bringing together industry leaders, government partners, and stakeholders. With over 500 active members, PTAA continues to foster growth and innovation, championing initiatives that elevate Philippine tourism.
