Gapan, Nueva Ecija, Philippines – 18 March 2025 – MGEN Renewable Energy, Inc.  (MGreen), through its subsidiary Terra Solar Philippines, Inc. (MTerra Solar), is proud to  announce its collaboration with various local governments in Nueva Ecija to launch  livelihood programs for communities surrounding the groundbreaking MTerra Solar project. This initiative aims to provide sustainable economic opportunities for residents,  helping them thrive as part of the country’s shift toward clean, renewable energy.

The MTerra Solar project, set to become the world’s largest integrated solar photovoltaic  (PV) and battery storage facility, will not only contribute significantly to the Philippines’ renewable energy capacity but also serves as a model for socially responsible energy  development. The partnership between MTerra Solar and the local governments will  create a range of livelihood programs designed to empower the surrounding communities  by offering jobs, skills development, and economic growth.

During Agora, MTerra Solar’s quarterly stakeholder engagement forum, the company  formalized three key agreements with partner LGUs—solidifying its commitment to  uplifting host communities even during the project’s construction phase. These programs  are designed to deliver immediate benefits through jobs, skills training, and local  enterprise support.

As we build this transformative clean energy project, we are equally committed to building  better lives for the people in our host communities,” said Dennis B. Jordan, President and  CEO of MGreen and MTerra Solar. “Even while we are still in the construction stage, the  positive impact of MTerra Solar is already being felt—and this is just the beginning,” he  added.

The MTerra Solar project is steadily advancing toward its goal of delivering clean energy  while driving local development. Currently, the project is currently 33% complete with  Phase 1 slated for completion in February 2026 and Phase 2 to follow a year later.  Additionally, the project has already generated more than 1,700 jobs during the  construction period with over 1.6 million total accumulated safe man-hours – a testament  to the project’s commitment to provide employment opportunities in the area, and at the  same time foster a culture of safety in all aspects of its operations. As construction  progresses, MTerra Solar expects to create up to 10,000 jobs, further driving economic  growth in host communities.

BrighTER: Illuminating Communities

Under the BrighTER initiative, MTerra Solar will install solar-powered streetlights to the  seven host barangays of Gapan, Peñaranda, and General Tinio, Nueva Ecija. This  initiative will cover around 2 kilometers of road network and improve visibility and security  for residents, particularly during the evening. Through this, the project will not only provide sustainable lighting solution but also aligns with MTerra Solar’s commitment to  empowering communities through clean energy.

TERRAnsform: A Job Readiness Training Project

In partnership with Meralco Power Academy (MPA) and the local government of Gapan, Peñaranda, and General Tinio, Nueva Ecija, the TERRAnsform program will equip around  630 scholars with specialized training tailored to support the ongoing construction of the  MTerra Solar project. Notably, qualified scholars will be absorbed by the project’s

Engineering, Procurement, and Construction contractors, ensuring immediate  employment opportunities and technological skills upgrade for the people of Nueva Ecija.

CarTER: Supporting Local Livelihoods

To support local enterprises, MTerra Solar launched the CarTER initiative, which includes  the construction of three temporary community marketplaces within the project’s Phase 1  site. These dedicated spaces will serve as hubs for local vendors, providing them with a  designated area to sell goods and services and fostering economic activity and  entrepreneurship within the community. This marketplace aims to empower small  business owners and enhance local trade, serving up to 7,500 workers.

City of Gapan Mayor Emary Joy Pascual expressed her gratitude and full support for the  project and initiatives, stating, “Maraming salamat po at buong puso naming sinusuportahan ang proyekto. Ang MTerra Solar ay biyaya para sa Nueva Ecija at kasama  niyo kami sa historical project na ito.” (Thank you very much and we wholeheartedly  support the project. MTerra Solar is a blessing to Nueva Ecija, and we stand with you in  making history with this project.)

Through these initiatives, MTerra Solar continues to integrate sustainability and social  impact into its renewable energy projects, ensuring that host communities thrive alongside  the country’s energy transition. By illuminating streets, creating job opportunities, and  supporting local businesses, MTerra Solar is not only promoting long-term economic and  social development but also strengthening its commitment to being a responsible partner  in community growth.
