In living up to the company tradition of giving back to the community it serves, employees of SmarTrade launched a Gift2Give gift-giving program for the benefit of Virlanie Foundation, Inc. and the street kids under its care.
To further boost the initiative launched to coincide with the company’s fifth anniversary, SmarTrade management matched every in-kind donation from its employees.
A total of 16 sacks of rice, 218 bars of bath soap, 14 liters of liquid bath soap, 100 packs of sanitary napkins, and 4 gallons of cooking oil were recently turned over to beneficiary Virlanie Foundation, Inc.
Virlanie is a private, non-profit and non-sectarian organization that has helped more than 22,000 street children for the past 29 years. SmarTrade believes in its efforts to create more sustainable programs for marginalized families to prevent the cycle of intergenerational poverty.
This aligns with SmarTrade’s mission of bringing world-class financial education to Filipinos because the company believes empowering people with tools to help fight poverty is the key to progress.

Aside from its business goals, SmarTrade has also been very active in its community engagement activities from environmental protection and conservation, such as tree-planting activities and coral reef restorations, to disaster relief programs.
