SM City Grand Central drew a big crowd of applicants during its Mega Job Fair held recently at the 3rd floor of the mall

The Mega Job Fair, which was organized in close coordination with the City’s Public Employment Service Office (PESO), Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) CAMANAVA Field Office and Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA), attracted a total of 946 job applicants. The Local Government of Caloocan in collaboration with SM City Grand Central hopes to generate as many jobs as possible for its resident as it showcased career opportunities spanning a wide cross-section of industries, career fields, and salary levels.

Mayor Dale Gonzalo Malapitan (middle) with (right) Caloocan City PESO Manager Violeta Gonzales and (left) SM City Grand Central Mall Manager Jacqueline Santos led the opening of Mega Job Fair at the SM Mall in Caloocan. Joining honors are DOLE-Supervising Labor and Employment Officer Tambie Oliveros (extreme right) and SM HR Manager Shella Marie Vito (extreme left).

A total of 46 companies participated in the event and offered positions in skilled trades, administration, accounting, management, production, quality control, customer service, procurement, engineering, IT, sales and marketing, food and beverage, human resources, customer relations and culinary arts including entry-level positions in these numerous professions.

Over 900 Caloocan jobseekers lined-up at the mall stretch of SM City Grand Central.

Results show that at least 247 job seekers were Hired-On-The-Spot. The mega job fair also generated 5,973 job listings from local firms and almost 186 openings from licensed overseas agencies.

Employers interview Caloocan applicants during the Mega Job Fair at SM City Grand Central.

SM City Grand Central Mall Manager Jacqueline Santos shares that the recent job fair is one of the many ways SM Supermalls does its share for the community while supporting the National and Local Government’s initiative of providing a full, decent, and productive employment for every Filipino. One-stop-shop that includes various government services from the Bureau of Internal (BIR), Social Security System (SSS), PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG Fun and Philippine Statistics Authority were also available for job seekers and the general public.
