At the start of 2020, a new coronavirus (COVID-19) invaded the world leading to the death of more than six million people worldwide. While vaccines and oral medicines against COVID-19 are available, people are still susceptible to contracting the virus. Clinical deficiencies of nutrients may be among the factors that could increase susceptibility to infections.

According to a survey by Rakuten Insights on dietary supplements in the Philippines, as of July 2020, 85% of people aged 55 and above tend to take nutritional supplements daily, while people aged 16 to 24 years old tend to be the most sparing in terms of taking supplements at 61%.

As people look for the best supplements that can help them look after their health, CoQ10 is one that emerges unique.

CoQ10 is a compound made by your body and stored in the mitochondria of your cells. Research has shown that CoQ10 plays several vital roles in your body – provides energy to the cells, helps improve heart health, and reduces the oxidative damage caused by daily stress and pollution.

(From Left) John Echauz, Chairman of Vivaro, Dr. Bernadette Arcilla, Medical Director, and Marisa Del Val, Vivaro Shareholder & BIA with CoQ10 user shared their knowledge, expertise, and personal experience on the benefits of CoQ10 supplement during the virtual media launch of Vivaro’s BIA product line.

Refuel your energy with BIA CoQ10 from Vivaro

Vivaro offers BIA, a CoQ10 supplement, to help meet your daily antioxidant requirement. Vivaro’s products were conceived of and launched during the height of the pandemic, but the journey started in 2010 when some of the founders of Vivaro learned about CoQ10 at Gerson Institute in Mexico when they went for cancer treatment.

A group of experienced entrepreneurs, executives from pharmaceutical and consumer healthcare organizations, research scientists, and technical and marketing technology professionals formed Vivaro with a vision of providing accessible, affordable nutritional products to help elevate Filipinos’ health, and therefore, their quality of life.

“Every Filipino spent an average of PHP8,216.42 on healthcare goods and services in 2020, around the height of the pandemic. This is a 5% increase in spending habits compared to just a year prior,” said John Echauz, Chairman of Vivaro. “Our country’s success depends on health, which is a basic human need. As a result, we strive to provide as many Filipinos as possible with world-class vitamins, minerals, and health supplements.”

The founders of Vivaro are believers in a holistic approach to wellness in life: which means a combination of a healthy lifestyle: balanced diet, exercise, sufficient rest, and rejuvenation, combined with the addition of the right supplements to help keep our body functioning optimally.

Why take BIA, a CoQ10 supplement?

Antioxidants have become scientifically interesting compounds due to their many benefits such as anti-aging and anti-inflammatory. Antioxidants are found in many foods, including fruits and vegetables. Your body naturally absorbs and produces essential substances, including vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants. These keep your body healthy and functioning correctly. But it is not always possible to get all the essential nutrients we need just through our regular food intake.

Making CoQ10 supplementation a part of your daily routine can benefit adults of all ages, especially those receiving treatment for health issues or who have depleted energy levels due to medical conditions. CoQ10 supplementation is clinically proven to help manage cardiovascular problems and help improve heart health.

“The body’s ability to produce CoQ10 declines with age and we need to rely more on external sources like food and supplements. Lack of CoQ10 in the body has been associated with health issues like cardiovascular problems all the way to certain cancers,” noted Dr. Bernadette Arcilla.

Likewise, a lot of Filipinos nowadays are prescribed to take cholesterol-lowering medications like statins. However, studies show that for some, statins may result in side effects like muscle pain, weakness, cramping, and fatigue. Vivaro’s BIA products offer supplements that will suit your needs and help address some of these symptoms.

BIA 300, for instance, helps you enjoy life every day by giving you the maximum recommended daily potency of CoQ10, a clinically proven antioxidant that helps support heart health while restoring energy and vitality. This is recommended for males and females aged 50 years and above.

BIA DAILY helps fight the free radicals in your body that could otherwise damage cells and may lead to heart disease, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and diabetes. If you are 35 years and above, BIA Daily can be your supplement partner.

Hawthorn Berries, CoQ10, and Vitamin E are natural ingredients that help address heart problems, regulate blood pressure, lower cholesterol, and improve blood circulation. If you need to manage any of these conditions, BIA Plus could be beneficial to you. Before taking Bia Plus, you should ask your doctor about it.

If you or your loved ones want to reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease, BIA CARE with COQ10 and Tocotrienol may be suitable for you.

Tocotrienols are also known as the next-generation Vitamin E. They have targeted antioxidant action that targets the sources of inflammation in the body that comes with aging (“inflammaging”), thereby helping to reduce your risk of cardiovascular diseases, and other diseases related to aging.

“CoQ10 is a powerful antioxidant and has been clinically proven to play a vital role in the body’s immune system,” Dr. Arcilla highlighted. “Clinical studies have also demonstrated the efficacy of CoQ10 in helping address heart and neurological problems, migraine, cancer, fertility, and depleted energy levels.”

Live healthier with CoQ10

Marisa del Val has known the benefits of CoQ10 since 2010 and benefited from taking it daily. She discovered CoQ10 at the Gerson Institute in Mexico where she went for treatment for ovarian cancer. She fought cancer and has been declared cancer-free since 2017.

“Having BIA supplements here in the Philippines means CoQ10 is readily available for those battling cancer. CoQ10 has been my source of energy and my immunity booster. It’s my partner in maintaining my overall wellbeing,” notes Marisa.

“It’s a dream come true. Used to be, CoQ10 was unheard of here in the Philippines except for a very niche group. Launching Bia gives us an opportunity to share its benefits. I am very excited to spread this wonderful supplement that has been such a great gift of health to our family. In this challenging environment, our daily dose of Bia helps us be ahead of the game. “
