ArthaLand, the Philippines’ benchmark for green and sustainable development, is raising the bar once again as it breaks ground today for Sevina Park – the first development in the country to aim for LEED Neighborhood Development & LEED Home Certifications. Located in the city of Biñan, within the emerging metropolitan Laguna growth center, Sevina Park will be an 8.1-hectare mixed-use community masterplanned by Boston-based global design firm — Sasaki Associates, Inc. It is envisioned to become a sustainable, close-knit neighborhood that will be conveniently located a few minutes from the soon to open Laguna Boulevard interchange of the Cavite-Laguna Expressway (CALAX).
The Laguna section of the CALAX is targeted for completion in the second half of this year.

The name ‘Sevina’ is a coined word that means Life as a foundation for new beginnings. The inclusion of the word ‘Park’, on the other hand, emphasizes on the design and emotional aspect of a quaint, mixed-use community with open areas, shared gardens, enveloping courtyards, scenic streetscapes, and an abundance of lush greenery for interaction, convergence, and community engagement. One important feature that will set ArthaLand’s Sevina Park apart is that 60 percent of the development will be dedicated to these green and open spaces.
A modern-day community that will have an array of diverse and exceptionally designed components, the commercial portion of Sevina Park will consist of neighborhood retail and landmark green offices. Its residential portions, on the other hand, will consist of a comfortable dormitory that will cater to nearby schools, a set of idyllic low-rise apartments and lofts, and a townhouse villa component with limited edition designer homes by renowned architectural practice – Leandro V. Locsin and Partners. All these coalesce to create an intimate and holistic neighborhood ideal for new beginnings.
These aforementioned Sevina Park Villas, which are scheduled to be launched later this month and for turnover in the second quarter of 2021, will be composed of masterfully crafted 2, 3, and 4- bedroom villas that will open up to expansive courtyard gardens within each block. All the villas will come equipped with an energy efficient building envelope; efficient lighting, energy and water fixtures; and will be Wi-Fi enabled and home automation ready. The exclusive 4-bedroom Villa 170 unit type, however, will have additional sustainable features such as a Provision for Solar Power systems, enhanced indoor air quality by mechanical exhaust, and the use of FSC-certified wood, which qualify them to become the first LEED Certified Home in the country.

Sevina Park held its groundbreaking ceremony on 18 June 2019. The unique highlight of the occasion was the inauguration of the Sevina Park tree nursery & composting facility. During this milestone event, a tree-planting activity of endemic and endangered trees was conducted in partnership with the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) to establish ArthaLand’s commitment to improving the environment and community around Sevina Park by adding more lush greenery, promote biodiversity, and helping proliferate threatened plant species in the Philippines. It was participated in by management and directors of ArthaLand, VIPs from WWF, LV Locsin and Partners, and directors of the Philippine Green Building Council. After the groundbreaking, construction onsite will be at full swing with pre-selling of the designer villas starting this month.
