Casa de Memoria welcomes the yuletide season with its Cosmic Holiday Auction featuring brilliant decorative arts and dazzling jewelry pieces.
The Cosmic Holiday Auction is aptly named because of its grandiose and vast collection of stellar pieces that can be perfect for gifting to special loved ones, or for decorating the home with elegant statement pieces in time for the Christmas season.
The collection includes splendid Chinese antiques including a delicate Chinese Porcelain Bowl with Reticulated Lip and Stand in Bronze. This Chinese 20th-century porcelain bowl is embellished with colorful peonies and costs P50,000.
Another beautiful item is a Chinese Red Lacquered Two-Door Cabinet with stunning motifs of various Chinese objects, stylized flowers and leaves, and animals figures made with jade and stones. This artifact costs P120,000.
Apart from these oriental lots, there are also various European religious sculptures made from different materials like silver, glass, and ivory.
One notable piece is an exquisite Spanish silver sculpture depicting Our Lady of the Pillar, one of the rarest known titles of the Blessed Virgin, with a gilded crown which rests on a tall onyx pedestal. This costs P40,000.
Another piece hails from 20th century France is the Crystal Sculpture of the Immaculate Conception. Simple but elegant, the sculpture is made of frosted and polished, colorless glass. This possibly Baccarat sculpture costs P85,000.
Championing local art, there are also rare pieces from Filipino painters including a capiz painting by Miguel Zaragoza’s and an untitled lithography by Fernando Zobel de Ayala.
The unique painting on Mother-of-Pearl by the celebrated 19th-century artist, Miguel Zaragoza, illustrates a rural scene with greenery outdoor landscape and a harvester wearing a salakot feeding a dog. This rare find costs P180,000.
On the other hand, the Abstract Lithograph by Spanish-Filipino painter, businessman, and museum founder Fernando Zobel de Ayala is finished with watercolor and colored pencil. The untitled and undated lithograph costs P30,000.
While there are a variety of lots ranging from European furniture to Chinese porcelains, jewelry pieces also belong in the Cosmic Holiday collection including a Pair of Dangling Earrings made with 18-karat white gold and beautifully studded with small round brilliant-cut diamonds. This pair of dangling earrings costs P195,000.
There’s also a set comprising of Necklace with Pendant and a Pair of Earrings in 18-karat white gold with corals, onyx and black birthstones. This one stands out amongst the exhibited pieces as it costs P3,500,000, probably the most expensive piece to be sold in the upcoming auction.
Casa de Memoria’s Cosmic Holiday Auction will be on November 10 at 2:00 p.m. at the Casa de Memoria Showroom, located in Jupiter Street, Makati City.
