PH stuns Nepal in AFC Women's Asian Cup qualification

Two goals in the second half sealed the deal for the Philippine Malditas national women’s football team as they repulsed Nepal, 2-1, in Group F of the 2022 AFC Women's Asian Cup qualification Saturday in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.

Nepal put the Philippines on the defensive after Bimala Chaudhary knocked in a quick one in the  10th minute.

But with defense holding up in the last 45 minutes of action, Fil-American booters Tahnai Annis and Camille Wilson  struck late in the game to hand the Malditas their first win in the qualifiers.

Annis, a 32-year-old midfielder from Zanesville Ohio, equalized the match on the 89th minute before the Philippine-born Wilson delivered the second on the 92nd minute of added time.

This put the Malditas on track of their goal of making it to the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup.
