The University Athletic Association of the Philippines has canceled the rest of Season 82.

This comes after President Rodrigo Duterte extended the enhanced community quarantine the country has been in until April 30, 2020, early in the day.

"With the Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) having been extended, the conditions for the resumption of UAAP Season 82 can no longer be met," the league's statement co-signed by Season 82 President Emmanuel Fernandez and Executive Director Atty. Rene Saguisag read.

"As such it is now deemed cancelled."

Initially, the league was looking tom implement a new format if the ECQ was lifted by April 14. However, the extension of the ECQ resulted in classes and other school activities remaining suspended beyond April 15.

UAAP Collegiate events that stopped were volleyball and football. Baseball, softball, athletics, lawn tennis, and 3×3 basketball never had a game day this season.

The league will address the repercussions of this decision once everything in the country has settled.

"All other issues related thereto will be resolved at the proper time as we continue to focus our time, energy, and resources in battling this crisis," the statement continued.

Despite this, the league is grateful to everyone who made the season a success.
