UAAP, NCAA cancel games

The sudden eruption of Taal Volcano last Sunday has compelled authorities to postpone numerous games of the 82nd University Athletic Association of the Philippines and the 95th National Collegiate Athletic Association.

Authorities said the long wait on the status of volcano have forced them to call off today’s matches in the UAAP junior basketball competitions and the junior football hostilities as well.

The effects of the sudden volcanic activity are now being felt in parts of Central and Southern Luzon.

And ashfall from the eruption are now affecting Tagaytay, Batangas and even all the way to Metro Manila. 

Many schools are also taking part in rescue and relief efforts as well.

The volleyball games of the NCAA season 95 are set to resume on Thursday.
