Krizziah Tabora-Macatula captured the Ladies Open title at the Philippine National Open 2026 on Thursday, defeating top seed Dyan Coronacion in a decisive stepladder final at the Sta. Lucia East Bowling Center.
The 2017 QubicaAMF Bowling World Cup champion, who entered the finals as the second seed, found her form in the championship match to secure a 246-186 victory over Coronacion.
Tabora-Macatula’s path to the title required a narrow escape in the semifinal round against third-seeded Danielle Escolano. In a tightly contested frame, Tabora-Macatula pulled away late to record a 211-206 win, eliminating Escolano and setting up the clash with the tournament leader.
Coronacion had emerged as the favorite after dominating the qualifying rounds. She posted a total pinfall of 1,678 over eight games for a 210 average, but she was unable to maintain that pace against Tabora-Macatula’s aggressive performance in the final.
The victory marks a significant return to the top of the podium for Tabora-Macatula, who utilized a string of strikes in the closing match to overwhelm her opponent.
Coronacion took the silver medal, while Escolano finished with the bronze. The Philippine Bowling Federation event also featured strong performances from Dale Lazo and Noelle Campos, who finished fourth and fifth, respectively.
