PVF-Tanduay Girls’ Y18 ‘Series in UR Cities’ goes to Basilan

The Basilan Leg of the Philippine Volleyball Federation-Tanduay Athletics Girls Y18 ‘Series In UR Cities’ Volleyball gets underway on Nov. 23 at the Isabela City Gymnasium in Isabela City, Basilan.

Coordinated by PVF officer Dr. Arnel Hajan, the event is supported by the Office of the Isabela City Mayor Dadah Turabin~Hataman, the Deputy Speaker Mujiv Hataman, Claude M. Ramos II of the City Tourism Council, City Administrator Joel Basilan Zanoria and the Sitti Auna Riverland Resort and Hotel.

The winner of the Basilan Leg will earn the right to vie for two slots allotted to represent Mindanao in the National Finals to be held in Manila. 

The national champion will go to Singapore (all expenses paid) to compete in a tournament and/or play local high school teams in friendly matches.

There are no entry fees and complimentary drinks and lunch will be served to all participants and officials.

PVF President Edgardo “Tito Boy” Cantada will be on hand as in almost all the legs of the “Series,” accompanied by PVF Secretary General Gerard Cantada, PVF Managing Director Dr. Otie Camangian and PVF officer Weng Caparas. 

“This is to show everyone that Basilan Province and Isabela City in particular are as safe as any place in the country and just as beautiful with their numerous beaches, landmarks and, of course, its friendly and lovely people,” said Cantada.
