San Beda and Perpetual Help will both look to stay alive when they try to knock each other out today  in the lone women’s match in the Premier Volleyball League Season 2 Collegiate Conference at the Filoil Flying V Center in San Juan.

With their lowly identical 1-4 cards, the winner in the 4 p.m. clash will only tie St. Benilde at fifth and will need to hurdle its last assignment and hope fourth-running University of the Philippines to drop its last match to force a playoff for the last Final Four seat.

But the Lady Red Spikers and the Lady Altas aren’t looking too far ahead and would want to focus on their faceoff expected to go down-to-the-wire.

Adamson (6-0), UST and FEU, toting similar 5-1 slates, clinched the top three berths in the semis with UP getting the inside track to the last spot with a 3-3 card. The Lady Maroons take on the Lady Red Spikers at the close of the single round elims of the mid-season conference of the league organized by Sports Vision on Sunday.

Meanwhile, top meets bottom in men’s play as unbeaten UST battles winless Arellano at 8 a.m. followed by the La Salle-Perpetual (both 2-5) at 10 a.m. FEU and St. Benilde, also posting identical 4-3 slates, square off at 12 noon before National U (6-1) tangles with San Beda (2-5) at 2 p.m.

Adamson and UP part ways at 4-3 as they collide in the 6 p.m. main dish of the tournament backed by Mikasa and Asics.

The women’s game can be viewed via streaming on www.abs-cbn.com/livestream/pvl.
