In an interview with ONEFC.com, Subba issued a challenge to the former ONE Featherweight World Champion, knowing that it is the perfect way to bounce back after a lengthy lay-off.
For now, Banario hopes Subba heals up soon.
“I’m fine with it,” Banario said. “It all depends if ONE Championship grants us this match. If they do, then I will fight him. I am just not in the habit of choosing my opponent, and I’ll fight whoever.”
“For now, I am just hoping for Keanu’s fast recovery from his injuries.”
Banario is one of the pioneers in The Home Of Martial Arts; he competed in the promotion since its second event way back in 2012.
Since then, Banario competed 16 more times, blowing hot and cold in both the featherweight and lightweight division for the next seven years.
The experience of facing the who’s who in the largest martial arts organization in the world will be his advantage against the 27-year-old Malaysian.
“I believe I am more experienced than him. He’s young, and he is just starting to rise in the division, but I am a veteran of this game,” Banario said.
“I think I can use experience to my advantage if we meet.”
If this match pushes through, it will also be the perfect opportunity for “The Rock” to show that he is far from done.
