Lady Falcons help in relief efforts vs virus

Since their games in Season 82 of the University Athletic Association of the Philippines have been postponed, the Adamson Lady Falcons women’s softball team still stayed in shape over the last three months.

And they have never stopped training and preparing for their 10th straight crown.

Lady Falcons’ coach Ana Santiago said members of the squad have gone online in their bid to remain fit and ready.

“Mayroon kaming four times a week online training, it’s more like conditioning training monitored by the Philippine Sports Commission sports specialists. So doon na lang kami halos araw-araw nagkikita. Four times a week, Monday Tuesday Thursday and Friday, every 2 p.m.,” said Santiago in a podcast interview hosted by Martie Bautista.

Team members, according to Santiago, were heartbroken when their games in Season 82 were called off.

The Lady Falcons are now able to do workouts since the beginning of the lockdown last March 15.

Back then, many teammates were left stranded in the dormitories of their school.

Because of their situation, they decided to band together and pack goods for distribution in various parts of Manila.

“So nu’ng nagsabi ‘yung Adamson na magbibigay sila sa mga community ng something para makatulong, so nag-volunteer kami na kami na lang ‘yung magre-repack, magpe-prepare, then some of us na puwedeng sumama magdeliver,” said Santiago.

And these also helped the girls get busy during the last three months.

“Doon na umikot ‘yung time namin habang naka lockdown kami sa Adamson kasi even me nandoon rin.
