Fil-Australian chess player Arianne Caoili passed away two weeks after figuring in a car accident in Yerevan, Armenia.

Her husband, world no. 4 grandmaster Levon Aronian paid tribute to his 33-year- old wife on Twitter.

“I have no words to express the grievance over my wife Arianne’s death. She was intelligent, hard working and a joyous person that lived a beautiful life… I love you honeybun, sleep tight….,” wrote Aronian, who is Armenia’s top player in chess.

Caoili, who married Aronian in 2017, was involved in an accident as she crashed her Lexus RX350 into a supporting column under the bridge in Lake Yerevan at the intersection of Sebastia Street and Isakov Avenue on March 14.

Rescuers managed to pull Caoili out of the car. She was taken to Astghik Medical Center.

She had a FIDE rating of 2139.
