HANOI — The all-woman GrindSky Eris Team gave Team Philippines its 1st gold medal in the 31st Southeast Asian Games’ esports competition at the National Convention Center here late Wednesday night.
The team, composed of Christine Natividad, Rose Ann Robles, Charize Doble, April Sotto and Angel Lozada, came through with a 3-0 victory over Singapore in the League of Legends: Wild Rift finals to become the first women medalist in SEA Games esports’ history.
Philippine Olympic Committee president Rep. Abraham “Bambol” Tolentino was on hand to award the members of the Philippine Sibol Wild Rift team their gold medals.
