PH bet Suyamin to play in Pattaya chess meet

The Philippines' chess wizard Bonjoure Fille Suyamin will head to Pattaya, Thailand with hopes of improving her chess ranking aside from bringing more honor for the country.

Accompanied by his PH coach Ederwin Estavillo and her mother Elizabeth Suyamin, fondly called Bonj in the chess world, will see action at the Pattaya Chess Club Open 2019 slated from October 19 to 24 in Pattaya, Thailand.

"I love you anak. Proud of you always kami ni papa sa ‘yo," said Elizabeth Suyamin, mother of Bonj.

The nine-year-old Bonj, a grade 4 pupil of Del Rosario Christian Institute in General Trias City is under the guidance of Del Rosario Christian Institute Foundation Inc. Chairman/President Arnel Beltran Del Rosario. She won the coveted gold medal in the Thailand Chess Festival 2019 at the Le Bali Resort and Spa in Pattaya, Thailand last July.

She also won three silver medals during the 20th ASEAN Age-Group Chess Championship in Myanmar last June.

Bonj is fresh from winning the gold medal in the 2019 General Trias City chess meet last September 24 to advance to the provincial meet.

As part of her training in the upcoming Pattaya, Thailand chess meet, she will compete in the Estavillo Cup NCFP rated kiddies Under 14 chess tournament on October 6 at the Robinsons Townville Buhay Na Tubig Branch, Imus, Cavite.

Bonj is best to remembered for winning the Thailand Pattaya Youth Chess Championship 2018 held at the Bay Beach Resort Pattaya, Banglamung, Chin Buried in Pattaya, Thailand. Bonj brought home the gold medal in the girls under 10 division.
