The title run by the Volcanoes comes on a busy year ahead of them, with the Olympic qualifiers coming.

More stints await the Volcanoes in the Asia Rugby Sevens Series, not to mention matches during the 30th Southeast Asian Games.

Team captain Danny Matthews said this is an opportunity for the 15s to continue the good work.

The Volcanoes reached the finals following a 39-22 win over Sri Lanka in the semifinals.

Singapore made its way to the finals with their 18-13 triumph over host Chinese Taipei.

Sri Lanka settled for third with its 72-17 demolition of Chinese Taipei.
