“We are starting 2019 with the same purpose, but with a greater motivation to expand the reach of the PSC by conducting the Children’s Games all over the country,” said PSC Chairman William Ramirez.

The agency’s centerpiece program for grassroots, recognized by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization back in 2017, is opening its four-day program by training sports volunteers in the Ate/Kuya Workshop, that will be followed by the games proper the next day.

Philippine Sports Institute Deputy Director for Grassroots Marlon Malbog informed that “that the PSC has a standing agreement with Abra provincial Governor Jocelyn Bernos, to conduct an edition of the games in their province.”

Kids from Muslim, Christian and indigenous communities will be playing various team and individual sports like basketball, volleyball, football, badminton and table tennis, as well as the much-anticipated Larong Pinoy.
