King of Nations PH drifting lures world’s best

The Federal Tyres King of Nations ProSeries, the biggest and most highly anticipated international drifting championship in the world, will hold its Philippine Leg this weekend at the Clark International Raceway in Clark, Pampanga.

Dubbed as the King of Nations Philippines 2018 (KONPH2018), which is sponsored by Federal Tyres, Autophile, Motul, Petron, PLDT, Fontana Leisure Park and PartsPro.ph, organized by BackStage Events and sanctioned by the Automobile Association of the Philippines, the event will see the best drifters from around the world including the Philippines compete against each other in the last round of the King of Nations Asia ProSeries 2018.

Seeing action in the KONPH2018, which is also supported by Auto Plus, Clark International Speedway, Rota, NGK, Brembo, 10inch Lights and Sounds, NPPA Images, MAD Films, Kiss Juice, Voda  Pure, Dole, DC PH and AAP with media partners AutoCar, autoindustriya.com, jamesdeakin.ph, Manila Times, Malaya, driven2ride, 2Ner Magazine and 9tro Group Philippines, are Charles Ng of Hong Kong; Daigo Saito of Japan; Keng Ptt of Thailand; Hirohide Tanaka of Japan; Nasser Almutairi of Kuwait; Keiichiro Kadekaru of Japan and Toni “HalfBreeds” Arakaki of Japan.

They will compete against some of the finest professional Filipino talents, including Luis Gono, David Feliciano, Alex Perez, Atoy Llave, Jason Chuachoy, Audel Sison, Alvan Fowlerr, Patrick Ng, Boodie Dabasol, Luis Sayson, John Boban, Norman Wycoco, Mark Bernardo, John Lazaga, Norman Agojo and Ralph Tan. 

Expected to dominate the tarmac are Charles Ng from Hong Kong, who is leading the Asia ProSeries, Daigo Saito from Japan, and Keng Ptt from Thailand. They were all in a tight battle in the recent King of Nations Round 3 and King of Asia Round 2, held at Pathum Thani in Thailand, while Filipino pride will be bannered by the gutsy 19-year-old Luis Gono, veteran David Feliciano and king of bodykits Atoy Llave.

The organizers have scheduled a competition for local drifting amateurs on Friday, while the Pros will see action on Saturday and Sunday, the 26th and 27th.
