DAVAO City will also get a cash bonus for bagging third place overall place in the Batang Pinoy 2016 National Championships.

The Philippine Sports Commission is releasing P150,000 in cash through Chairman William Ramirez’s Sr. Executive Assistant Ronnel Abrenica, who said the incentives offered to winners may not be a lot, but it shows the PSC’s recognition of the local government unit’s efforts to become partners in sports development.

“Most importantly, it shows appreciation for the hard work the children put into preparing and participating in the Games,” said Abrenica.

Atty. Zuleika Lopez City Administrator and Michael Denton Aportadera, Officer-in-Charge of City Sports Development Division and City Anti-Drug Abuse Council, recently received the award on behalf of Mayor Sara Duterte Carpio.

The PSC had earlier offered cash incentives for the top-winning LGUs in the Games.
