Warriors to practice at own venue
The NLEX Road Warriors, led by Kiefer Ravena, were given the green light by the IATF to hold separate workouts, aside from the venue that the PBA will provide.

Road Warriors’ coach Yeng Guiao said team management has made efforts to find the team its own gymnasium once practice sessions in the Philippine Basketball Association are finally allowed on July 22.

Speaking in the weekly podcast of Chasedown, Guiao said they have informed the Interagency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases of their moves.

Because of this, Guiao said the squad was given the green light to hold separate workouts, aside from the venue that the PBA will provide.

“This is one reason kung bakit malakas ang loob namin na sumulat sa IATF. Kasi, alam namin na puwede naming ipangako sa kanila na walang ibang makakapasok dito, at puwede namin pangalagaan ang mga sarili namin,” said Guiao.

The PBA is asking the teams to go through cluster isolations when they finally do the workouts, which is the league’s way of controlling the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19) disease.

The PBA is set to follow health protocols closely when practices begin.

“By batches. Doon natin titingnan kung may nag-positive,” said PBA Commissioner Willie Marcial, who met with team officials and coaches early this week.

PBA teams were allowed the return to practice after the IATF gave the green light for professional basketball and football players.

Guidelines were disclosed when PBA coaches met with the the Games and Amusement Board officials.

Under the guidelines, only four players per team with one coach and a health officer will be allowed at the training facility.

The four players will have an hour to train, before another batch replaces them for another practice session.

Then, there will also be separate schedules for groups, so players will have alternate training days.
