Fresh off their NCAA Season 100 Juniors’ Basketball championship, the Perpetual Help Junior Altas wasted no time in holding tryouts on Saturday at their UPH Campus gym.
The team aims to build a roster capable of securing back-to-back titles in Season 101.
Over 200 aspiring young players, born between 2006 and 2010, flocked to the “Home of the Altas” for the one-day event.
Coach Joph Cleopas explained the tryout was crucial to fill the void left by graduating standouts, including Season MVP LeBron Jhames Daep and Finals MVP Jan Roluna, along with JD Pagulayan, Icee Callangan, TJ Tabbuan, Jericho Cristino, Kelsey Baldoria, Jacob dela Cruz, and Aries Borja.
Participants underwent rigorous skills assessments and individual play evaluations.
While no official pool has been established for the upcoming season, Cleopas noted the return of Grade 11 players Lance Nitura, Kurt Velasquez, Louie Rosales, Jim Corpuz, Keanne Zanoria, Ezekiel Zamoras, and Kurt Patalinghug, expressing hope for the discovery of new talent ready to contribute.
