This groundbreaking collaboration highlights EASL’s mission to unite Asia’s top basketball teams, with Mongolia joining an elite lineup of champions from the Philippines, Japan, South Korea, Chinese Taipei, Hong Kong SAR, and Macau SAR.

Further announcements about additional leagues joining the 2025-26 season are anticipated soon, as EASL solidifies its status as the premier basketball competition in the region.

EASL CEO Henry Kerins expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership, stating:

“We’re excited to welcome ‘The League’ to EASL and support the growth of Mongolian basketball. This partnership is a landmark achievement that’s never been done before. It’s a testament to our commitment to elevating basketball across Asia and uniting the region’s best talent. Partnering with Mongolia’s ‘The League’ ensures that EASL teams will compete against strong, well-prepared opponents, raising the level of the game for everyone involved.”

MBA Secretary General Tugsjargal Sambuu highlighted the historic significance of this partnership:

“This marks a historic milestone for Mongolian basketball. For the first time, the best teams from our professional league will compete against Asia’s basketball powerhouses, highlighting our talent, resilience, and dedication to the sport.

With basketball being Mongolia’s most popular sport—capturing the passion of over half of the country’s population—the league has experienced remarkable growth in recent years.

This partnership underscores EASL’s dedication to elevating basketball in Asia. By bringing together the region’s top leagues and teams, EASL continues to demonstrate the power of collaboration in growing the sport to new heights and inspiring fans across the continent.
