The Adamson Falcons need to work on their team chemistry if they are to stay in contention for the Final Four semifinals of the 82nd University Athletic Association of the Philippines men's basketball tournament.
Falcons' coach Franz Pumaren said this after the San Marcelino-based squad pulled off a 91-80 triumph over the University of the East Warriors last Wednesday at the Araneta Coliseum.
“This is our third game, but we’re really struggling chemistry-wise. Even if we won our second straight for that matter, we’re still trying to figure out the right combinations,” said Pumaren.
Jerrick Ahanmisi led with 28 points as Adamson University moved up to second with its 2-1 win-loss record.
This allowed the Falcons to pull even with the La Salle Green Archers.
Jeron Lastimosa chipped in 16 points, eight rebounds, and six assists for the Falcons.
Rey Suerte carried winless UE with 20 points, seven rebounds, six assists, and two steals, in the absence of Senegalese big man Alex Diakhite, who was sick.
The Falcons are bracing for a showdown with the University of the Philippines Fighting Maroons this Sunday.
And it will be their first clash since the Falcons lost to the Maroons in the Final Four last year.
