Male high school students aged 12-16 years are invited to join “RC Cola Liga ng Bayan,” the biggest 3×3 basketball tournament soon to take place in select barangays throughout Luzon.

Unlike other 3×3 basketball tournaments, the “RC Cola Liga ng Bayan” aims to build a community of sports-minded youths who are passionate about basketball, for them to develop sportsmanship and leadership skills while bringing them closer to their ultimate dream of becoming the country’s next Lebron James. RC Cola is also introducing a workshop component to help chosen participants further hone their skills and better appreciate the value of the sport.

The first leg of RC Cola’s 3×3 basketball competitions kicked off last March 23 at the Carangalan Covered court in Dagupan City. This will be followed by a separate round of eliminations that will soon take place in Tarlac, Nueva Ecija, and Pampanga as well as in Bulacan (April 13 to 14) for the Northern Luzon leg.

The Southern Luzon leg, meanwhile, will kick off in Laguna (April 27 to 28) and Batangas (May 4 to 5) while the NCR leg will be played in Cavite/Las Pinas (May 18), Caloocan/Manila (May 19) and Makati/Mandaluyong and San Juan (May 18 to 19). Winning teams will automatically represent their respective city/province in the national finals to be held at Market! Market! in Taguig City on May 26. ‘Idol ng Bayan’ Joshua Garcia, the newest endorser of RC Cola, is also expected to give participants an added boost when he sits down to watch the games, especially during the national finals.

Aside from bringing home the top prize of P50,000, the champion in the national finals will also get a chance to give the basketball court in their barangay a complete make-over courtesy of ARC Refreshments Corporation, maker of RC Cola—the well-loved RC ng Bayan. The first runner-up, meanwhile, receives P30,000. Winning teams will also receive ARC products composed of RC Cola, Juicy Lemon, Fruit Soda Orange, Seetrus and Arcy’s Rootbeer.
