University of Perpetual Help System Dalta will parade its six new players as well as the return of veteran guard Kieth Pido as it sees action in the PBA D-League unfurling on February 14 at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City.

Ben Adamos, a transferee from reigning NCAA champion San Beda, is the biggest name among the new batch of recruits by the Altas and should be tasked to carry the load in Season 95 after Prince Eze, last year’s MVP, played his last year.

Also suiting up for UPHSD are transferees Lean Martel and Lele Guizzani from San Beda, James Labarda from Arellano, Jeffer Egan from Southern PH College in Cagayan de Oro, Ramlee Lanoy from St. Francis of Assisi and Jboy Solis from Olivarez.

Pido, the Altas’ starting guard, who suffered an ACL (anterior cruciate ligament) tear last year that forced him to sit out the whole of Season 94, will make his much-awaited return and should provide the team the needed experience as they aim to surpass their Final Four finish a season back.

Pido and the new recruits will join holdovers Edgar Charcos, Anton Tamayo, Tonton Peralta, Jelo Razon, Kim Aurin and Jerome Pacia.

“We have six new faces in the team and also Pido is back so the D-League will be an important part in our preparation and we will see there how the new and old players will mesh,” said UPHSD coach Frankie Lim, who has steered the Altas to the Final Four on his first season with the team.

On top of that, Lim also tapped Ed Cordero, his former assistant when the former was still with San Beda, and son Melo Lim to join his coaching staff that also includes Myk Saguiguit, Ferdinand Ali Ali and Gerard Dizon.

UPHSD owner Tony Tamayo, meanwhile, bared plans of the team training abroad from April to May to further strengthen the squad.

“The school is fully supportive of coach Frankie and the whole team with hopes of a strong performance in the next NCAA season,” said Tamayo.”‹
