After weeks of drama and suspense, Terrence Romeo was finally back on the hardwood.

The flamboyant spitfire attended his first practice session with his new team San Miguel Beer yesterday as his new teammates welcomed him in his next venture in the Philippine Basketball Association.

Following several reported issues and run-ins he’s had with his previous team TNT KaTropa, Romeo was traded to the Beermen weeks ago in exchange for Brian Heruela, David Semerad and future picks.

Romeo first missed San Miguel Beer’s previous practices but finally showed up yesterday at the Acropolis Gym to join his new team in its quest for a record-extending fifth straight Philippine Cup championship.

As expected, Romeo was oriented with his role as he joins an already star-studded cast that includes four-time Most Valuable Player June Mar Fajardo, Arwind Santos, Marcio Lassiter, Alex Cabagnot, Chris Ross and Christian Standhardinger.

With his addition, San Miguel Beer became an even heavier favorite heading to the All-Filipino Conference that starts on Jan. 13.

Aside from Romeo, PBA legend Jimmy Alapag was also formally introduced to the team as its newest assistant coach.

Alapag, who led Alab Pilipinas to its first championship in the ABL last season, is expected to further help the squad on the sidelines.
