THE coming Metro Manila Sportsfest basketball and volleyball competitions presented by the Metro Manila Development Authority will be today’s topic in the Usapang Sports, Atbp. with Vic Endriga over Station DZAR 1026 at 2 p.m.
Veteran coach and now MMSF tournament director Bonnie Tan will talk about the competition featuring all 17 cities and municipalities under the Metro Manila Commission during the hour-long Saturday-only sports program.
Tan, who was re-appointed by MMDA chairman Danny Lim to oversee the event for the second straight year, is expected to be joined by MMSF commissioner Pido Jarencio, finance officer Waiyip Chong and MMDA sports director Atty. Cris Saruca.
The inaugural MBT cage tournaments were held in two age divisions last year, with Marikina Shoelanders topping the junior division (boys 16-under) category and Mandaluyong Tigers ruling the senior categoy (men’s 24-under).
This year, the junior and senior basketball and volleyball tournaments will kick off simultaneously on April 15.
