Three throwing events will kick off a series of competitions that will be organized by the National Masters and Seniors Athletics Association of the Philippines this year.

Among them is the 2023 NMSAAP Masters Athletics Meet on March 21 in Ilagan, Isabela.

It will be followed by the 5Throws For All Philippine Championships at the Philsports Complex in Pasig City from April 14 to 16.

National Masters and Seniors Athletics Assocation of the Philippines officials invite former elite athletes and business executives to continue to be fit and perform in competitive level.

Next up is the Asian Masters Athletics Championships set from Nov. 8 to 12 at the New Clark City Stadium in Capas, Tarlac.

The series aims to highlight the beauty of competition in shot put, discus throw, hammer throw and the weight events.

“These events promote the five basic events of throwing. This is from everyone, the elite thrower, to the seniors and masters, and the para (disabled) athletes,” said NMSAAP executive Alberto Agra.

Agra and officials of the NMSAAP talked about their event series during a launch held on Saturday at the To Ho Antigua Restaurant in Binondo, Manila.

The 2023 NMSAAP Masters Athletics Meet in Isabela will serve as the pre-opening event of the 2023 ICTSI Philippine Athletics Championships, which take place from March 21 to 26.

More than 100 athletes aged 30 years old and above have signed up to join in around 24 age group events.

Competitions will be played in the age categories of 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, and 50-54.
