In the Conquer Challenge Elite male category, Mohammad Sherwin Managil grabbed first place with a time of 25 minutes and 29 seconds, outpacing VJ Miranda, who finished second with 25 minutes and 54 seconds, and Jeffrey Reginio, who landed third with 26 minutes and 37 seconds.

In the female Elite category, Jenny Mell Magannon bagged first place with 34 minutes and 41 seconds, Sandy Menchi Abahan placed second with 35 minutes and 35 seconds, and Glorien Merisco landed third with 36 minutes and 35 seconds.

Only the top three athletes in the Elite category with the lowest accumulated points in all the four qualifying races will join the national pool.

First place will earn four points, along with cash prizes totaling P10,000, while second place will get five points with P8,000. Third place receives six points and P5,000.

Danilo Yugyug, one of the five selected Aetas from Allianz’s social inclusion based in Porac Pampanga, placed among the Top 20 participants, giving him a chance to join the national pool.

“Maraming salamat po kasi dahil kahit nasa pinakasulok kami ng bundok, kinuha nila (Allianz) kami para makilahok,” the 20-year-old Yugyug said.

“Allianz is here for them to give the opportunity,” Allianz Chief Marketing Officer, Gae Martinez added.

The success of Allianz OCR Sunday and its growing number of participants gave high hopes for Pilipinas Obstacles Sports Federation Head Atty. Al Agra.

“It’s getting better and better,” Atty. Al Agra said.

Agra made a surprise announcement that the Philippines will hold the first-ever quadrathlon, which includes swimming, cycling, running, and obstacle courses. The time and venue are yet to be announced.
