Vermosa hub aquathlon set on March 10

Some 400 aspiring and veteran multisport athletes from around the country are set to converge at Vermosa Sports Hub in Daang Hari, Cavite for the Vermosa Sports Hub Aquathlon 1 on Sunday.

 This aquathlon is the first event in the Vermosa Sports Hub Series and the Sun Life Aquathlon Series organized by Bike King Philippines. 

The event is designed to combine healthy competition in a family-friendly environment utilizing the world-class facilities of the Vermosa Sports Hub, the country’s first one-stop training facility opened in 2018 and boasts of an Olympic-size pool, football field, track oval, and a sports and science laboratory.  

 Participants as young as 7 years old to adults over 50 will take on age-appropriate race distances when the gun goes off at 6:30 a.m., beginning with a swim in the Olympic-size pool followed by a run on the track oval. 

The longest course is the standard distance 500-meter swim and 5-km run. The shortest course is a 100-meter swim and a 600-meter run for kids aged 7 to 10.

 At stake in the event supported by Ayala Land Inc., Gatorade, Standard Insurance, Speedo, My Daily Collagen, and Mogu Mogu are medals and gift packs for the top 3 finishers of each age-group category. The March 10 race, which is part of both Vermosa Sports Hub and Sun Life Aquathlon series, will award points to the Top 20 finishers of the standard distance category. By joining the races of each series, participants can vie for the honor of being named the Top Aquathlete in their age group by the end of 2019.
