MARIAN Jade Capadocia and teammate Fatma Al Nabhani recently clinched the $15,000 Manama International Tennis Federation Women’s Circuit tournament in Bahrain.
Currently ranked no. 983 in ITF rankings, Capadocia and Al Nabhani topped the the top-seeded pair of Zimbabwe’s Valeria Bhunu and Great Britain’s Emily Webley-Smith for a 7-5, 6-2 triumph.
The 23-year-old Capadocia and Fatma earlier upset the Indian second seeds Zeel Desai and Kanika Vaidya in a 3-6, 7-5 (10-4) victory.
Capadocia also bowed to Webley-Smith, 4-6, 6-7(3), in the singles’ Round of 16.
Fatma, who played in the singles, was beaten by Slovakian fourth seed Tereza Mihalikova, 6-1, 6-4.
