BREAKING down stereotypes and defining what toughness is all about.

This is what the cable television program “R U Tough Enough” will attempt to bring to viewers this year.

Organizers will choose five male and female contestants who will face off in a “Man vs Woman” edition.

“We will be searching for the toughest Pinoy across the nation. We will break stereotypes and define what toughness is,” said Kix Shirley Cheong, executive director for marketing.

Cheong said this during the launch of the program at the Buffalo Wild Wings in Glorietta 1. Cheong was with program ambassadors, former rugby athlete Arnold Aninion and actress-fitness expert Aubrey Miles.

The winner will be crowned as the Toughest Pinoy and earn a grand prize of P250,000.

For Miles, this is a program that’s she’s waiting to do.

“I’ve been waiting for this. I deserve this. It’s not about being boastful, but I’ve been doing fitness training for almost two decades,” said Miles.

The ambassadors will lead the Team Aubrey and the Team Arnold respectively in the challenges.

“I’ve been a big fan of this (program),” said Aninion on the program that’s now on its fifth year.

R U Tough Enough Philippines is sponsored by Fisherman’s Friend, and supported by venue partner SM Mall of Asia, gym partner Gold’s Gym, cable partner Cablelink, Cignal TV, Destiny Cable, Gsat and SKYcable.
