The Blackwater Elite Bossings, led by standout performances from Justine Chua and Christian David, secured a crucial 100-92 victory against the Phoenix Super LPG Fuel Masters on Tuesday in the 49th Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) Commissioner’s Cup at the Ynares Center in Antipolo City.

Chua and David contributed 22 and 20 points, respectively, to help the Bossings stay in contention for a playoff spot. The duo teamed up with Jewel Ponferrada for a decisive 8-0 run in the final minute, solidifying the win despite Phoenix finishing with an eight-point edge late in the game.

The trio’s efforts were particularly significant in the absence of import George King, who was sidelined due to a foot injury sustained during their previous loss to Converge.

“I can’t express how proud I am because of the fight, the focus, the energy, and the ability to work together,” said head coach Jeff Cariaso, praising the all-Filipino lineup for stepping up in a crucial moment.

JVee Casio also played a key role, adding 14 points and five assists to guide the Bossings to their third win in 11 games.

Blackwater will look to carry this momentum into their final elimination round game against NorthPort on Saturday, where King is expected to make his return.

For Phoenix, Donovan Smith led all scorers with 32 points, while Jason Perkins added 19 points. However, the loss extended the Fuel Masters’ losing streak to three games, leaving them with the same 3-8 record as Blackwater.
