Four players who have seen action in the first window are expected to provide leadership to the young Gilas Pilipinas national men’s  basketball.

They are cagers who national coach Jong Uichico will turn to when action in the November window of the FIBA Asia Cup Qualifiers begins this Friday in Manama.

“We hope to get chemistry from the team with this. Hopefully, we can get this in our first game,” said Uichico on Zoom before they left for Bahrain.

Big man Isaac Go leads the returnees, who also include Juan Gomez De Liaño, Matt Nieto, and Dwight Ramos.

During their February game, Gilas prevailed over Indonesia in Jakarta, 100-70.

At that time, De Liaño scored 10 points in 11.3 minutes played.

“It has been an adjustment for me because they need more teaching. But the guys are hard workers and are willing learners,” added Uichico.

Among the new members of Gilas are Dave Ildefonso, Kobe Paras and Kenmark Carino, who are expected to bring more energy to the squad.

For Ildefonso, he was able to see action for the Philippines in the under-18 Asian Championship 2018, up  to the  U19 World Cup 2019.

Gilas is bunched in Group A of the Qualifiers  with Korea, Thailand and Indonesia.
