LOS ANGELES — Dwight Howard is seeing the silver lining in all of this.

The veteran center is hell-bent on proving doubters wrong in a return trip to a city where he could have reached the pinnacle of it all.

Having a fresh outlook on things and a goal to redeem his former Glory the former Dunk contest champion and many-time Defensive Player of the Year says he will embrace this chance donning the purple and gold.

“I’m big on new beginnings, and this is the time to start up a new time. I'm just looking forward to having a fresh start with the fans and show them my only dedication is to put another banner up here in Los Angeles,” he said.

And he hopes the Lakers fans, and the others intently eyeing his upcoming role with the franchise, will give him another shot.

Howard, the apparent proxy big man to the Lakers campaign as starting Center DeMarcus Cousins still sits out due to an injury, will make the most out of this opportunity.

He will now be teaming up with Anthony Davis and LeBron James in a bid to cop his first NBA title since coming close to capturing a ring with the Orlando Magic.

“This is a very big blessing to re-sign with the Lakers,” he said.
