Bad weather forces NCAA to reschedule games again

THE National Collegiate Athletic Association has postponed its 93rd basketball games for the second straight playdate due to bad weather.

League Management Committee chairman Fr. Glyn Ortega, OAR, made the announcement as early as Thursday night, the same time Metro Manila Mayors announced the suspension of classes caused by Typhoon Gorio.

“Due to bad weather and suspension of classes, and for the welfare of our students and supporters, NCAA games tomorrow (today) July 28 are cancelled,” said Ortega in a text message.

The day before, the league also postponed its NCAA on Tour at the San Sebastian Gym in Mendiola, Manila.

Ortega said postponed games will be tentatively rescheduled at the latter part of the first round of elimination.

Weather permitting, NCAA games will resume on Tuesday at the Filoil Arena in San Juan City with College of St. Benilde battling unbeaten solo leader Lyceum of the Philippines University, Arellano University facing off with Letran and Perpetual Help clashing with San Sebastian.

Games Tuesday

8 a.m.- CSB vs LPU (jrs)

10 a.m.- AU vs Letran (jrs)

12 noon CSB vs LPU (srs)

2 p.m.- AU vs Letran (srs)

4 p.m.- Perpetual vs SSC (srs)

6 p.m- Perpetual vs SSC (jrs)
