Filipino stars weigh in on Andrade-Baatarkhuu at ONE Fight Night 38

ONE Championship closes out 2025 this weekend at Bangkok’s legendary Lumpinee Stadium, and three Filipino bantamweight MMA contenders have shared their views on the explosive main event that could reshape the division.

ONE Fight Night 38: Andrade vs. Baatarkhuu on Prime Video features reigning ONE Bantamweight MMA World Champion Fabricio “Wonder Boy” Andrade defending his throne against #4-ranked challenger “The Tormentor” Enkh-Orgil Baatarkhuu of Mongolia in what promises to be a stylistic battle for the ages.

Lions Nation MMA’s Jeremy “The Juggernaut” Pacatiw, who lost to Andrade via knockout back in 2022, is backing the Brazilian champion to retain his belt, citing his refined skillset as the deciding factor.

“Both athletes are exceptionally well-rounded in striking and on the ground. I lean toward Andrade because his timing and precision stand out, but I have great respect for Baatarkhuu’s explosiveness, strength, and athleticism,” Pacatiw said.

“May the best man win, and may both athletes compete safely.”

On the other hand, Team Lakay’s Jhanlo Mark Sangiao sees the fight as a genuine toss-up, with both men holding clear paths to victory. “The Machine” also succumbed to the Mongolian challenger via submission back in 2023.

“The Andrade vs. Baatarkhuu fight is gonna be a good match. Fabricio is an explosive striker and very tactical in the standup game, and he’ll face Enkh-Orgil, who’s a strong grappler with a big tank—he can grapple for five rounds,” Sangiao said.

“My thought is either Fabricio wins by knockout or Enkh-Orgil wins by submission.”

The statistics support both fighters’ finishing ability. Andrade brings an unblemished 7-0 record (1 no contest) in ONE Championship competition, including five knockouts and one submission. His striking has proven devastating at bantamweight, with opponents struggling to solve his timing and power.

Meanwhile, Baatarkhuu—who recently gained global recognition as a finalist on Netflix’s Physical: Asia for Team Mongolia—owns a 6-1 promotional record with three submissions and one TKO. His grappling credentials are elite, and his ability to maintain a grueling pace for an entire fight makes him a nightmare matchup for any striker who can’t keep the action standing.

Team Lakay’s Carlo Bumina-ang didn’t pick a winner but promised fans would witness something special on Saturday night. “The Bull” also has history with Baatarkhuu, losing to ‘The Tormentor’ via submission last year.

“Dangerous striker against a tremendous grappler. This is going to be a battle for greatness,” Bumina-ang said.
