HẢI PHÒNG, Vietnam — The Philippine national women’s football team’s bid to retain its crown ended on Wednesday after being held to a 1-1 draw by Myanmar at Lạch Tray Stadium in the ASEAN Women’s MSIG Serenity Cup 2025.
Myanmar topped Group B with a perfect three-game sweep to secure a semifinals berth, while the result eliminated the Filipinas from contention.
Win Theingi Tun opened the scoring for Myanmar in the first half, but Filipino-American forward Nina Mathelus netted the equalizer in the 71st minute to keep the Philippines in the fight.

The Filipinas closed their campaign third in Group B behind Myanmar and Australia, falling short of a spot in the semifinals.
