The Perpetual Junior Altas ended their 41-year title drought by taking Game 2 of their best-of-three title showdown with La Salle Greenhills, winning, 101-67, the NCAA Season 100 Juniors’ Basketball Championship at the jampacked FilOil EcoOil Centre in San Juan City on Palm Sunday.
Season and Finals MVP LeBron James Daep recorded a double-double performance and got ample help from Mythical Five member Jan Roluna and Most Improved Player Jericho Cristino.
Anton Tamayo, Team Manager and Vice President for Sports of Team Perpetual Altas, the title was a great gift for the UPH Community as the school celebrates its 50th founding anniversary this year.
“It’s a great season for us. They (Junior Altas) showed what we worked hard for during the whole year of our preparations. They showed the real character, from pre-school up to NC,” coach Joph Cleopas said.
“After our bridesmaid finish last season, we took this as inspiration to strive harder as a team,” Cleopas added.
