GILAS Pilipinas Women 3×3 and Uratex Dream gave it their all and made it to the semifinals of the Jumpshot 3×3 Season 2 over the weekend in Singapore.
The Filipino teams put up a tough stand on their respective matches before falling in the final four.
Gilas Women proved to be a handful for the opposition before bowing to eventual champion Chuu of Thailand, 15-13.
Kaye Pingol reunited with the Nationals as the country’s no. 1-ranked women’s 3×3 player conspired with Camille Clarin, Jhaz Joson, and Mikka Cacho as they topped Pool C with a perfect 3-0 card before disposing NTSC 1, 16-14, in the quarterfinals.
Uratex, on the other hand, came up short against fancied Panthers 3×3 of Spain, 21-14, in their own semis matchup.

Led by holdovers Sam Harada and Li Renzhu, the Dream also paraded Hazelle Yam and Japanese guard Wakana Yagami as they finished second place in Pool B with their 2-1 record before taking down Shoot It Dragons, 21-16, in the quarters.
Nonetheless, it was a strong follow up for the Philippine teams after their showing in the Manila Hustle 3×3 Season 3 last week.
Uratex Tibay, composed of CC Junsay, Marian Domingo, Lourdes Ordoveza, and Ford Grajales, could not advance through the group stages after only logging a 1-2 card in Pool A.
Chuu, spearheaded by Thai stars Bo Supavadee and Junny Udomsuk, claimed the women’s crown and the USD3,000 cash prize after besting Panthers 3×3 of Ari Geli and Paris Olympian Kacie Bosch.
Over in the men’s side, Uncle Drew Pilipinas settled for runner-up honors against Jumpshot Singapore after absorbing a 20-15 defeat in the finale.
The squad, made up of TH Tumalip, Shaq Alanes, and imports Joshua Keyes and Jose Blazquez, earned the top seed in Pool A before nosing out NTSC 2, 21-19 in the quarterfinals and clipping Chinese Taipei, 21-17, in the semifinals.
