PHILIPPINE women’s team veterans Katrina Guillou and Isabella Flanigan provided valuable support as the nationals held off host Uzbekistan to a 3-all draw on Monday night in their Asian Football Confederation Women’s Futsal Asian Cup China 2025 Qualifiers at the Yunusobod Sports Complex.

The two were around to keep their rivals busy defensively and offensively as Fil-Australian Judy Connolly struck the tying goal with a minute.

The 21-year-old Connolly sent in the third goal after getting a pass from Guillou at the 38:02 mark of their featured match in Group C.

“What it comes down to is I just enjoy the sport, whether it’s futsal, football, it’s always been something that I’ve grown up playing and being given this opportunity from PFF and the coaching staff, I truly honored it and I’m lucky enough to play with these girls that sit in front of me right now and I can’t wait to go to the tournament,” said Guillou before the tournament.

The standoff kept the Philippines in second spot in their bracket, in contention to formally earn a spot in the tournament proper that China will host from May 8 to 17.

Bearing a 1-1-0 win-draw-loss record, the Filipinas are behind solo-leading Australia, which posted its second straight triumph off a 5-0 rout of Kuwait.
