The San Miguel Beermen suffered a tough 81-87 defeat to the Suwon KT Sonic Boom in their opening game of the East Asia Super League (EASL) 2024-2025 season on Wednesday at the Mall of Asia Arena.
Suwon KT was powered by Rayshaun Hammonds, who delivered an outstanding performance, scoring 39 points along with 14 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 steals.

Hammonds was instrumental in a late-game surge, scoring 7 of his points during a crucial 12-2 run that stretched Sonic Boom’s lead from 75-73 to 87-75.
Former Korean Basketball League MVP Heo Hoon also contributed significantly with 17 points, including a critical three-pointer with 5:23 remaining that gave Suwon KT a 78-73 advantage.
