SINGAPORE—Tan Chong Huat, President of the Singapore Golf Association (SGA) has been appointed as the President of the ASEAN Golf Federation (AGF) for a one-year term at the AGF Annual General Meeting held on August 23, 2023 at The Mines Golf Resort in Malaysia.
Besides helming the SGA where one of his key objectives is to enhance the golf ecosystem in Singapore, Tan’s role at AGF will see him further strengthen the bonds of friendship amongst member associations, promote the development of golf in the region and key tournaments such as the South East Asian Amateur Golf Team Championships.

“I am deeply honoured and privileged to take on the role of President of the ASEAN Golf Federation for the upcoming year. As we embark on this journey, my commitment is to foster the growth and development of golf in the ASEAN region.
“Together with fellow member associations, we will work collaboratively to promote key regional tournaments (such as the South East Asian Amateur Golf Team Championships), training events and conferences of international standard, and golf tourism in ASEAN.” said Tan on his appointment.
The members of AGF include the Brunei Golf Association, Cambodia Golf Association, Indonesia Golf Association, Laos Golf Association, Malaysian Golf Association, Myanmar Golf Federation, The National Golf Association of the Philippines, Singapore Golf Association, Thailand Golf Association and Vietnam Golf Association. Other countries out of the ASEAN region may join subject to the approval of the Federation.
