Buhain, COPA to bare plans at TOPS forum

The current state of swimming and plans to further uplift the country’s grassroots sports program will be discussed as swimming legend, Congressman Joseph ‘Eric’ Buhain leads the list of guests in the Tabloids Organization in Philippine Sports’ ‘Usapang Sports’ on Thursday (August 11) at the Behrouz Restaurant, 50 Scout Tobias-Sct. Fernandez, Timog, Quezon City.

Buhain, a two-time Olympian, SEA Games record holder and Philippine Hall-of-Famer, will have his hands full in crafting bills intended to amend and strengthen current laws to give more benefits and health security to retired and current national athletes and coaches.

The former Philippines Sports Commission and Games and Amusement Board chairman was elected Congressman for the 1st District of Batangas in last May’s National Elections.

He will be joined in the weekly sports forum set at 10:30 a.m. and sponsored by PSC, GAB, Pagcor and Behrouz, the official venue of TOPS, by former national swimming coach Carlos ‘Pinky’ Brosas, who will discuss the forthcoming projects of the Congress of Philippine Aquatics Inc.

TOPS president Maribeth Repizo-Santos of the Pilipino Star Ngayon has invited members and officials as well as sports enthusiasts to attend and participate in the discussion, to be streamed live at TOPS’ official Facebook page.
