THE inaugural staging of the Tanduay Athletics PVF U18 Girls Inter-Province Luzon Volleyball Championship starts Saturday at the Tanduay Athletics Volleyball Center in Taguig City.
The eight teams representing PVF provincial chapters — Quezon, Bataan, Rizal, Bulacan, Nueva Ecija, Pampanga, Pangasinan and a guest team from NCR — will play in a single-round robin elimination.
The all-weekend schedule will have the eight teams and officials billeted at the Center.
There are no entry fees and complimentary board and lodging are provided giving equal opportunities. Complimentary transportation is available for most.
PVF’s long reach extends to everyone including marginalized children and children of Indigenous People from the countryside.
The fond memories the participants will have in this tournament as well as other PVF events will remain with them for quite some time.
The Center is a resort-like sports facility boasting two indoor volleyball courts with Taraflex flooring — one is fully air-conditioned and convertible to basketball with a Robbins All-Star maple floor.
It has two beach volleyball courts — one outdoor and the other, the only indoor venue in the country.
The guests could avail of its swimming pool, whirlpool, and spotless, clean toilets and shower rooms.
It has a mini-theater, a billiard room, a social hall, cocktail lounges, function rooms, hotel-type rooms, and comfortable air-conditioned dormitory-type rooms.
It has a state-of-the-art exercise room complete with weights, exercise machines, and top-of-the-line Everlast boxing equipment. It also has the only professional full-sized Everlast boxing ring used in select international fights in Manila.
The girls’ division will be over in four weekends and the boys’ division will follow shortly.
PVF is generously supported by Tanduay Athletics and Asia Brewery, Inc., bottlers of Nestea drinks, Summit, and other fine products.
